Senior Credit Risk Analyst

Are you an experienced Credit Risk Analyst with a strong ability to challenge financial risks and influence senior leaders?

At Zenith, our Credit Risk Team is a fast paced, agile team managing a diverse portfolio of well-known brands across multiple industries. We're looking for a Senior Credit Risk Analyst to join us and play a pivotal role in shaping our approach to credit risk management.

Zenith, the UK's largest independent vehicle solutions provider, is at the forefront of the transition to sustainable vehicle solutions and shaping the future of leasing. With ambitious growth plans and a £25 million, four-year transformation programme underway, there's never been a better time to join us.

This is an exceptional opportunity to thrive in a dynamic, high-impact credit risk environment where you'll take ownership of evaluating end-to-end credit risk for both new and existing business customers. Leveraging your expertise in financial analysis, you'll interrogate financial statements—including balance sheets, cash flow, and profit and loss accounts—to assess creditworthiness, identify financial risks, and provide actionable insights. You'll make critical credit decisions, set appropriate credit limits based on your findings, and act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, including the CFO and executive board members, by confidently challenging financial risks and credit suitability.

In addition, you'll work closely with the Credit Risk Manager to manage complex credit decisions, coach and mentor team members, and drive continuous improvements in credit risk processes.

This role requires someone who is not just experienced in credit risk but also confident in assessing corporate financial risk and comfortable engaging with senior decision-makers to influence outcomes.

WHATS THE ROLE?

As our Senior Credit Risk Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in managing and mitigating business credit risk across a diverse portfolio. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assess and set appropriate credit limits for business customers, ensuring alignment with the company's risk appetite and funding covenants.
  • Monitor the existing customer portfolio for early signs of financial distress, identifying risks and recommending timely, effective actions to mitigate potential issues.
  • Prepare and present the monthly Credit Risk Committee report, providing detailed sector and customer analysis across both existing and new business portfolios.
  • Design, run, and monitor reports to identify customers approaching their credit limits, ensuring proactive risk management.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations and offer up risk mitigation to support business decision-making.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including credit ratings providers, internal teams, executive board members, and external customers.
  • Support the design and implementation of a credit monitoring system to capture and track credit risk-related information for all customers and suppliers.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance credit risk processes, systems, and reporting tools.
  • Support the development of new systems and processes to improve credit risk transparency, automate responsibilities, and enhance reporting capabilities.
  • Implement and maintain credit standards and procedures across the business, ensuring adherence to policies and best practices.
  • Manage the sector classifications and risk profiles for the business, ensuring they are up-to-date and reflective of current market conditions.
